It is vitally important that Christians walk in the truth of who we are in Christ. We must know that God loves us with an unconditional, everlasting love. The world doesn’t understand unconditional love. The world says we must perform well to earn approval. Christians often find themselves caught in that performance trap. We try to gain approval and self worth through the acceptance of others only to find ourselves unfulfilled. This search for self worth and significance often carries over into our relationship with God. Mistakenly we think that if we perform well, God will approve and accept us. We are trying to earn God’s love. We even erect strongholds of the mind that tell us we must perform to gain God’s love and approval.
